Former Seattle University and Pepperdine University athletic administrator Roxanne Levenson was named the Hawai`i Hilo Compliance Officer and Senior Woman Administrator, announced in December of 2016 by UHH athletic director Patrick Guillen.
Levenson was the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs and the Senior Woman Administrator at NCAA Division I Seattle for nearly five years (2010-2015). She was also the Chief Financial Officer for a majority of that time. She served at Pepperdine from 1987 to 2010, as the Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator.
"I am pleased to have Roxanne join our team," Guillen said at the time. "She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge especially in the area of NCAA Compliance and will be a key member of our administrative staff as we move Vulcan Athletics forward."
At Seattle, Levenson assisted in the daily operation and overall administration of the athletic department. She oversaw all fiscal operations and NCAA compliance oversight. She directed gender equity and Title IX compliance management and oversaw all human resource processes for the athletic department.
At Pepperdine, the Watsonville, Calif. native represented the department as the SWA and she supervised sports programs, academic support services, compliance, the business office, travel and athletic training. She administered all reports required by the NCAA, federal government and the West Coast Conference.
"I am excited to join Hawai`i Hilo athletics to continue pursuing my passion of athletics administration," Levenson said. "I hope to help build UHH athletics to prominence once again, while providing an exceptional student-athlete experience, one in which leads to their success academically, athletically and personally. I am looking forward to working with our student-athletes, coaches, staff and administrators and am absolutely enthralled to be a part of the Vulcan family and to immerse myself in this wonderful community."
She has served on numerous councils and committees with the NCAA, the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators, the Western Athletic Conference and the West Coast Conference. At both Seattle and Pepperdine, she directed or administered NCAA and conference championships.
Levenson was named the NACWAA NCAA Division I-AAA Administrator of the Year (2002) and was presented with Pepperdine's Outstanding Service Award (2001).
