Hawai'i Hilo Vulcans Athletics

Senior midfielder Jorge Martinez had two big goals last week in matches against Biola and Azusa Pacific as the Vulcans continued to make strides of improvement in 2019. The Madrid, Spain native scored the tying goal against Biola on Oct. 26 in the 73rd minute. The Vulcans would later score with less than two minutes left to give the Eagles their first PacWest loss of the season. On Oct. 28, against undefeated and No. 1 ranked Azusa Pacific, Martinez scored the tying goal again in the 69th minute to make the score 2-2. The Cougars would go on to win in overtime, but the Vulcans gave the top team in the country a scare. Martinez leads the Vulcans with four goals on the season, with one assist for nine total points.
