Baseball player Phillip Steering had one of the best offensive seasons in school history in 2017. He hit a Pacific West Conference leading .421 and had one of the top on-base percentages in the nation at .537. Additionally, his 3.64 grade point average helped him earn Co-SIDA Academic All-America honors.
