Freshman lefty Alessandro Giuliato had an amazing run during one of the biggest weeks in UH Hilo tennis history. He went 4-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles, rolling in straight sets with wins over opponents from Biola, Azusa Pacific, UC San Diego and Point Loma. In UHH's upset of previously unbeaten APU, Giuliato defeated No. 21 nationally ranked Christian Schmid, 6-0, 6-3. It was Schmid's first loss of the year. In doubles with Vaclav Slezak, the duo took down the nation's No. 1 ranked team of Schmid and Oliver Frank, also the first time that they have lost. Those wins helped lead UH Hilo to their first-ever victory over the Cougars.
Honorable Mention: Phillip Steering, baseball. Hit four home runs during four-game series at Dixie State, drove in eight runs and scored seven times.
