Vulcans Overpowered in Exhibition

Honolulu, Hawaii – The men's basketball team came up on the short end of a battle between the two University of Hawai‘i's as the Division I Warriors beat the Division II Vulcans 75-49 in the Stan Sheriff Arena.

Sporting a line-up of no player than 6-foot-6, the Vulcans were out-rebounded 46-26 by the taller and stronger Warriors. The rebounding advantage also gave the Warriors more shot opportunities as they put up 66 attempts while the Vulcans had 47.

Skip Esene, a 6-foot-6 senior, made a solid comeback after a red-shirt year and led the team with 15 points and four rebounds.

Terrance Troupe, a 6-6 junior, added 11 points and two rebounds.
