Laie, Hawaii – Paul Moth, Lara Bachmeier and Kari Andrew's top 10 finishes led the University of Hawaii at Hilo cross country teams at the Chaminade University Invitational.
Bachmeier finished third (19:58) and Andrews sixth (20:26) in the 5k women's race as the Lady's claimed second place in the five-team race. Brigham Young University-Hawaii used the home-course advantage and took eight of the top 10 spots to win the race. Behind UH Hilo were Chaminade, University of Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University.
Other Vulcans runners were Erin Hawker (16th, 21:53), Anna Hall (17th, 22:02), Martha Kawasaki (21st, 22:39) and Lyndsay Plymire (26th, 23:02).
Moth (28:08) finished seventh in the field of 25 in the 8k race as the men finished third. BYU-Hawaii paced the field while Hawaii Pacific came in second and Chaminade fourth.
Among the men, Alastair In finished in 11th place (28:32), Jeff Orchard was 14th (29:15), Joey D'amato was 15th (29:27) and Juan Morales in 17th place (30:41).
