Hilo, Hawaii – Coming off of outstanding performances at the 2005 Pacific West Conference Golf Championship, seven University of Hawaii at Hilo players have earned all-conference recognition.
Tournament champion Nick Mason was honored as the Men's Player of the Year while Head Coach
Earl Tamiya was the Coach of the Year.
In addition to Mason, tournament runner-up Garrett Okamura and fourth-place finisher Colin Gilliam also earned first-team recognition. Kevin Shimomura topped the second-team squad.
On the women's side, tournament runner-up Kiilani Matsuyoshi and fifth-place finisher Mineko Kanamoto earned first-team recognition. Kristen Higa was a second-team selection.
The men won the tournament by 30 strokes while the women finished second.
Western New Mexico University's Katharine Doss was selected as the Women's Player of the Year while WNMU's Kent Beatty took coach of the year honors.
