Hilo, Hawaii – University of Hawaii at Hilo freshman Hillary Hurley has been selected the 2007 AVCA Pacific Region Freshman of the Year.

The 6-2 outside hitter from Anderson, Calif., started 27 of 28 matches in 2007 and collected 343 kills, six assists, 37 service aces, 81 digs, 41 block assists and eight solo blocks. During the season she earned honorable mention PacWest player of the week honors three times.

Earning honorable-mention Pacific Region honor was sophomore middle blocker Fabiane Seben.
