UHH Surpasses NCAA Academic Success Rate

The University of Hawaii at Hilo surpassed the NCAA Academic Success Rate for the 1998-2001 period.

The ASR includes all scholarship and non-scholarship student-athletes (the Division I rate includes only scholarship athletes).

Both men's and women's cross country and tennis programs recorded ASRs of 100 compared to the federal rate of 44 for men's cross country, 25 for women's cross country, 67 for men's tennis and 75 for women's tennis.

Men's baseball and golf posted ASRs of 86 while the federal rate was 32 for baseball and 42 for golf.

Women's softball posted an ASR of 85 versus a federal rate of 71 while women's volleyball posted an 82 versus the federal rate of 60.

Men's basketball was at 50, just six shy of the federal rate of 56.

The ASR data include only student-athletes in the 1999, 2000, and 2001 entering cohorts.

Men's and women's soccer as well as women's golf did not join the cohort until the 2006 fall season.
