Kaneohe, Hawaii – The University of Hawaii at Hilo softball team saw their season come to an end as they fell 7-3 and 7-0 to Hawaii Pacific University (43-5-1, 23-1) in Pacific West Conference action at the HPU Softball Filed.
The Vulcans end their 2008 season with a 9-17-1 overall record and 8-13 conference.
In game one the Vulcans took the lead with a
Brittany Dock single down the ride side field, then advancing to second base on a wild pitch.
Kanani Numata reached first on a fielder’s choice advancing to second base on a throwing error, scoring Dock.
Sipau Lee-Noa put down a bunt moving Numata to third base.
Dana Lee singled to left field scoring Numata before
Amanda Tellez struck out for the third out.
The Vulcans take the lead 2-0.
The Vulcans scored one more run, but it wasn’t enough as the Sea Warriors wasted no time scoring runs in the third, fourth and seventh innings taking game one from the Vulcans 7-3.
Dana Lee was the only Vulcan to pair hits.
In game two the Sea Warriors won 7-0.
No Vulcan paired hits.
