For over 60 minutes, the University of Hawaii at Hilo dug deep to stay with Brigham Young University-Hawaii before succumbing 1-0 in the Pacific West Conference match in Laie, Hawaii.
The Vulcans are 3-11-4 overall and 2-7-3 in the PacWest while the Seasiders are 13-3 overall and 10-2 in the PacWest.
Defense kept the Vulcans in the game as the Seasiders were credited with 23 shots and 11 shots on goal as well as seven corner kicks. The Vulcans took just three shots with one on goal.
Only when the goalie box was flooded on a corner kick did the Seasiders managed to score on the scramble for the bouncing ball.
