The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped the first game of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader to Grand Canyon University, 4-3, before wet weather suspended the second game with the Antelopes leading 5-0 after one inning.

The second game will continue on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Wong Stadium with the scheduled 6 p.m. game to start thereafter.

The Vulcans dropped to 8-8 overall and 3-4 in the PWC while the Antelopes improved to 10-15 overall and 4-6 in the PWC.

#Peter Rodgers# led the Vulcans with a 3 for 4 game with an RBI. #Jeff Hanna# and #Ronel Trias# added two hits each.

#Jesse Moon# got the start but didn't figure in the decision as he left the game after 4.1 innings in which he gave up one run on three hits while walking four and striking out one.

#Jeff Jones# held the Antelopes hitless over the next 2.2 innings while striking out four.
#Christian Stephenson# took the loss.

The Vulcans had their opportunities to score as they stranded 14 runners on base.

Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth, the Vulcans rallied with two runs on three hits before a ground out stranded two more runners on base.
