After the game was continued after a 20-hour delay, the University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball team continued to muddle through as they dropped the second game of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader, 9-0, to Grand Canyon University at Wong Stadium.
The Vulcans dropped to 8-9 overall and 3-5 in the PWC while the Antelopes improved to 11-15 overall and 5-6 in the PWC.
The 6 p.m. scheduled game was cancelled due to the weather.
Under wet conditions on Tuesday, the Antelopes jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one inning. After three Vulcan errors and a double put up three more runs, the umpires suspended the game at 6:40 p.m.
The game resumed at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday with a runner of second. On the first play, the Antelope runner moved to second on a bad pick-off attempt. The next two batters were hit by pitches to load the bases for an RBI single.
In that inning, the Vulcans allowed 6 run on 3 hits and committed 4 errors.
