The University of Hawaii at Hilo claimed a Pacific West Conference doubleheader from Dixie State College with scores of 10-7 and 6-1 at Wong Stadium in Hilo, Hawaii.

The Vulcans improved to 17-15 overall and 8-10 in the PWC while the Red Storm are 22-16 overall and 9-7 in the PWC.

A 5-run third inning gave the Vulcans the boost they needed in game one. With the Red Storm leading 5-3, the Vulcans took advantage of an error and three hits. #Peter Rodger's# two-run single and #Matt Haasenritter's# RBI double capped scoring.

Rodgers led the squad with two hits and four RBI. #T.J. Pilla# was 2 for 2.

#Kekoa Lee# (4-3) recorded eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings to pick up the win.

#Clayton Uyechi# (4-1) tossed a two hitter and struckout 11 batters in his final home game in a Vulcan uniform. The senior righthander held the Red Storm hitless through five innings before a pair of sixth-inning singles produced a run.

#Keoni Mamago# was 3 for 4 in game two. Haasenritter, Pilla and #Shane Kessel# collected two hits apiece while Pilla also had three RBI.
