Two slip away

The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped a pair of Pacific West Conference games to Hawaii Pacific University, 4-2, 6-5, at Wong Stadium.

The Vulcans are 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the PacWest while the Sea Warriors are 4-0 overall and in the PacWest.

In the first game, the Vulcans were hitless until the sixth inning when #Keoni Manago# unloaded a two-run shot over the left field fence after #Tyson Goo# was hit by a pitch.

#Dan Hennigs# started the game giving up seven hits over 4.2 innings before giving the ball to #Dane Kinoshita#. Kinoshita gave up two hits.

The Vulcans seemed to have the second game in hand with a 5-1 lead entering the seventh inning. To that point, #Aaron Correa# held the Sea Warriors to a run on five hits.

Five consecutive hits later, the Sea Warriors tied the game and scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

The Vulcans loaded the bases in their half that ended in a ground out.

#Shane Kessel# was 2 for 4 in the game with a solo home run and a triple. #Arlie Johnson# also had two hits and a double.
