After dropping the first game 8-3, the University of Hawaii at Hilo came back to win the nightcap 5-1 to take a Pacific West Conference series from Dixie State College 3-1 at Wong Stadium in Hilo.

The Vulcans improve to 14-20 overall and 10-14 in the PacWest while the Red Storm is 26-15 overall and 16-12 in the PacWest.

#Kekoa Lee# went the distance in holding the Red Strom to four hits in the second game. He also struck out 11 batters but walked three and uncorked two wild pitches.

The Vulcans jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first on two hits and a pair of walks. With men on second and third, #Ronel Trias# scored on a wild pitch. Following a walk, #Cody Barrett# drove in a run with a double. #Shane Kessel# scored the final run on a fielder's choice.

Doubles by Trias and #Keoni Manago# added the final two runs in the second inning.

Trias was 3 for 3 to lead the Vulcans.

The Red Storm pitching staff gave up seven walks in the first game but the Vulcans managed just four hits to generate three runs.

The Vulcans trailed 2-0 when #Joshua James# delivered a bases-loaded single in the first inning to keep the game interesting. But after the two-run, two-hit first inning, the Vulcans were held to #John Hoffman's# single and #Jeff Hanna's# double the rest of the way.
