Ready to leave St. George, Utah

The University of Hawaii at Hilo is heading out of St. George, Utah after dropping a 7-inning twinbill 9-3 and 14-3 to Dixie State College.

The Vulcans fall to 6-9 overall and 3-6 in the Pacific West Conference while the Red Storm improve to 16-7 overall and 14-3 in the PacWest.

Jonathan James's single drove in a pair of runs as the Vulcans scored three runs on three hits in the sixth inning of the first game.

Keoni Manago continued his hot hitting with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate.

Manago opened the second game with a double and scored on a wild pitch to give the Vulcans a short-lived 1-0 lead. The Red Storm came right back with 6 runs on seven hits in their part of the first frame and never looked back.

Joshua Wong and Cade Uyetake paired hits for the Vulcans.
