The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped a Pacific West Conference doubleheader to Grand Canyon University, 12-6 and 14-3, at Brazell Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Vulcans are 6-11 overall and 3-8 in the PacWest while the Antelope are 13-15 overall and 9-9 in the PacWest.

Led by Bryan Patterson's 3-for-3, 3-RBI performance, the Vulcans found their offense in the first game with a 12-hit outburst.

Johnathan James and Joshua Wong both picked up a pair of hits.

On the mound, Vulcan pitchers gave up just four free passes while striking out 11. Kekoa Lee (2-2) started the game and accounted for eight strikeouts and no walks over 5.2 innings of work.

The Vulcans made use of two of their four hits in the second game with RBI singles by Zach Hamasaki and Daniel Hennigs producing runs. Wong's sacrifice fly scored the final run.

Aaron Correa and Seamus Yoneshige went three innings each with both giving up a walk and striking out one in the process.
