The University of Hawaii at Hilo swept the Academy of Art University, 2-1 and 8-4, in a Pacific West Conference doubleheader in Oakland, Calif.

"We finally got the gorilla off of our back," said UHH Head Coach Joey Estrella. "We used a lot of players in both games in fact in the second game we used every position player we had."
The first game went 11 innings before David Keller singled in the winning run.
Kekoa Lee and Richie Mariano kept the Urban Knights in check. Lee scattered nine hits over nine innings while striking out 10. Mariano picked up the win facing just six batters over the remaining two innings.
Jonathan James, Joshua Wong and Keller paired hits for the Vulcans (8-14 overall, 5-9 PacWest).
The Vulcans trailed 4-2 in the second game before adding three runs in the sixth on an error and Keoni Manago's 2-run double. They added three more runs in the seventh with the help of RBI singles by Daniel Hennig and Colin Zimmermann, and a bases-loaded walk to Makana Ramie.
Aaron Correa went five innings for the Vulcans giving up four runs on nine hits while striking out seven. Mariano tossed the final two innings giving up a pair of walks.
Manago, Lee and Wong paired hits for the Vulcans.
