Hillary Hurley and
Keoni Manago were announced as the 2010-11 Most Valuable Vulcans during the University of Hawaii at Hilo All-Sports Banquet held in the UHH gymnasium tonight.
Hurley (Jr., Anderson, Calif.) became the first Vulcan athlete to be named first-team all-conference in two sports claiming the honors in volleyball and basketball. She was also the conference's volleyball player of the year and a second-team all-Region.
Manago (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) currently leads the 17-25 baseball team and PacWest with a .400 batting average, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 3 homeruns and 22 RBI. One of the more feared batters in the PacWest he has a .580 slugging percentage and .459 onbase percentage.
Also earning recognition were the Academic/Athletes of the Year
Alex Parra (soccer) and
Emily Tooker (volleyball), Academic Team of the Year Women's Cross Country and Team of the Year Volleyball.
Other awards were presented to Volunteers of the Year

Fred Entilla, Staff Member of the Year
