Vulcans 13th best in DII golf

A 296 was not enough to advance the University of Hawaii at Hilo to the match play section of the NCAA Division II National Championship at The Meadows in Allendale, MI.
 
The Vulcans finished 13th in the 20-team championship tournament with rounds of 303, 308 and 296 to finish at 907. Nova Southeastern took the title with an 863 and with only the top eight teams participating in match-play, the Vulcans were 12-shots behind 8th place.
 
Chris Shimomura turned in the day's low round with an even-par 72 to finished tied for 52nd place with a 227 (75-80-72). Corey Kozuma was also tied in 52nd place with rounds of 75-77-75.
 
Dalen Yamauchi was the leading Vulcans with a 223 (76-72-75) and a 25th place tie.
 
Completing the squad are Christian Agosto (T71, 77-79-74=230) and Kyeton Littel (106th, 82-81-84=247).
