Vulcans split series with Hawks

The University of Hawaii at Hilo split a Pacific West Conference twinbill with Holy Names University to finish the 4-game series in a tie.
 
The Hawks won the first game 10-3 while the Vulcans claimed a 5-2 win in game two.
 
Eric Vega got the win with a 5.1 inning performance in which he struck out four and walked none. Michael Slifer got the save with 1.2 innings of no-hit relief.
 
Sean Nearhoof's 3-hit, 2-RBI performance led the Vulcans' 11 hit performance. Samuel Kim, Phillip Steering and William Cleary paired hits.
 
The Vulcans generated three runs on six hits in the first game with Byron Freitas and Steering collected two hits each.
 
Five pitchers saw action in giving up 14 hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
