The University of Hawaii at Hilo hosts California Baptist University in a four-game PacWest series in Wong Stadium. Single 9-inning games are scheduled for Wednesday, March 16 and Friday, March 18 with a 4 p.m. doubleheader being played on Thursday, March 17.

The Vulcans (3-9 overall, 2-8 PacWest) are coming off a series with Point Loma Nazarene in which they dropped the series opening twinbill, 0-5 and 5-9. The second doubleheader was cancelled due to rain.
 
Michael Jenkerson leads the squad with a .344 batting average in the ninth spot. He has a double and two RBI and a .417 onbase percentage over 11 games. Edison Sakata is at .333 with three RBI, five sacrifices and a .411 onbase percentage. The team is batting .265 with eight doubles, a triple and 34 RBI.
 
Jordan Kurokawa's 0.78 ERA with 25 strikeouts and seven walks leads the Vulcans. He is 1-2 with one complete game and one shutout. Eric Vega has a 2.08 ERA with nine strikeouts over four appearances and is 0-2. The team ERA is 4.80.

The Lancers (17-5, 7-1) sit atop the PacWest board. They are on a 12-game winning streak and come off a four-game sweeps of Dixie State University and Holy Names University.
 
Leading a squad batting .323 on the season are a pair of players hitting above .400. Stephen Lohr is at .466 with 13 doubles, a triple, three homeruns and 25 RBI. He has a .739 slugging percentage and .530 onbase percentage. Ryan Williams is at .406 with two doubles, five homeruns and eight RBI. He has a .938 slugging percentage and .513 on base percentage over 18 games. The Lancers have 54 doubles, three triples, 21 homeruns and 148 RBI.
 
Their pitching staffs touts a 2.32 ERA lead by Dylan Stowell with a 1.26 ERA. He is 5-0 with 44 strikeouts and 11 walks. Patrick Gonzales is also 5-0 but with a 1.93 ERA and 18 strikeouts and five walks. Travis Booth has picked up two saves in eight appearances and is 1-2 with a .84 ERA.
