KEAAU, Hawai`i—Dominican broke up scoreless match with two late second half goals to claim a 2-0 women's soccer win over Hawai`i Hilo on Saturday at Paiea Stadium.
It was the third win in the last four starts for Dominican as they improved to 4-6-1 in the Pacific West Conference and they are now 6-8-2 overall. They won two of their three matches on this Hawai`i swing.
The Vulcans dropped their fifth match in a row to fall to 6-8-1 overall and to 3-7-1 in the PacWest.
The action was even in the first 45 minutes, although UHH had six shots to Dominican's three. But the Penguins picked up the pace in the second half, putting the pressure on the Vulcan defense. Finally, in the 67
th minute, Dominican earned a penalty kick after a tackle in the box. Keira Dagy, who hadn't scored all season, zipped a shot past Vulcan goalkeeper

The visitors added the clinching goal ten minutes later. Alyssa Campbell lofted a long pass into a mob of players near the goal and Michelle Li somehow came out of the pack to head the ball into the net, making the count 2-0.
The Vulcans had five corner kicks in the second half but could only manage two shots, both of them on goal. Alyssa Ramos had the shutout for the Penguins with four saves on the day. UHH finished with eight shots, four of them on goal while Dominican had six shots, three of them on goal.
The Vulcans have two matches left on the slate—a Monday night encounter with Fresno Pacific (4:30) and a Saturday Senior Day match-up with Chaminade (12:30).
