LAIE, Hawai`i--BYU-Hawaii won two of three doubles matches and captured the final two singles matches of the day to slip by Hawai`i Hilo, 6-3, in men's tennis action at the BYUH Tennis Courts.
That match was a battle between regionally ranked teams, with the Seasiders at No. 5 and the Vulcans No. 8. BYUH improved to 8-3 on the season with the win, while UHH dropped to 4-5 and saw their three-match win streak come to a halt.Â
The No. 26 nationally ranked Seasiders won the final two matches of the day at fifth and sixth singles, both of them in three sets. On court six, Tsu-Ping Kuang won a battle with
Dillon Lam, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, and at No. 5 singles BYUH's Simon Guillin came back to beat
Ryuta Ogawa, 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 6-3.Â

Vaclav Slezak improved to 7-1 on the season with an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory, and No. 3 singles player
Gregory Zukeran also rolled with a 6-3, 6-3 score on his court. But the Vulcans could only take one of the three doubles matches, winning on court three quickly, 8-0, behind the tandem of
Stefan Coney and
Daniel Tada. UHH lost at No. 1-2 doubles by the same scores of 8-3.
These two teams will square off for the fourth time this season on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Laie. The Seasiders have won twice now by this 6-3 score and once at 5-4.
