IRVINE, Calif.--Junior Hawai`i Hilo goalkeeper
Michael Harre has been named the Pacific West Conference Defender of the Week, announced today by the conference office.
Harre helped direct a Vulcan 1-0 shutout last week at home against Notre Dame de Namur. The junior transfer from Maryville (MO) had nine saves and faced 11 Argonaut shots on a busy night. The St. Louis native had a number of athletic saves under the lights on a wet and muddy field.
It was the first shutout of Harre's Vulcan career. He is also the first Vulcan to be named PacWest Defender of the Week since Oct. 30, 2017 (
Cassidy Dixon).Â
This week's PacWest Player of the Week was Josiah Romero (Holy Names) and the Freshman of the Week is Alex Lugo (Biola).
The Vulcans have home matches this week on Wednesday (Dominican) and Saturday (Fresno Pacific). Both matches start at 7 p.m.
