UH Hilo sophomore relief pitcher John Kea has been named to the 2019 NWBWA All-West Region Baseball Team as an honorable mention selection.

Kea, the Vulcans' closer, had a school-record 10 saves this season, breaking his own mark of nine in 2018 as a redshirt freshman. He fanned 37 batters in just over 34 innings of work. He had 19 appearances.

There was one relief pitcher chosen to the first and second teams, and Kea was the one honorable mention listing. The west region spans the Pacific West Conference, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
