Oklahoma native
Trek Rundle is the newest staff member of the University of Hawai`i at Hilo athletic ohana, joining the Vulcan Sports Medicine staff on Monday, July 22.
Rundle comes to UH Hilo after spending a year as a graduate assistant at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he earned his master's degree. He graduated in 2016 from Oklahoma State.University, where he served on the sports medicine staff as a student assistant.
Rundle is a native of Merritt, Oklahoma and attended Merritt High School, where he played basketball and football.
Rundle joins the Vulcan ATC staff, led by
Kensei Gibbs (Head Athletic Trainer) and
Aya Morioka, who service the 12 UH Hilo athletic teams and nearly 200 student-athletes.
"Trek is highly energetic but is also a caring soul," Gibbs said. "He has a lot of passion for what he does. He has plenty of drive and the will to do the best that he possibly can for our student-athletes. He is a great addition to our staff."
Rundle will get to work this week at the Vulcan Basketball Camp (with Coach Jimmy Yagi), held Monday-Thursday at Panaewa Gym.

Patrick Guillen. "He came highly recommended and is eager to live and work here on the Big Island. I think he is a great fit and I know our students will appreciate his work ethic, care and concern for their medical well-being."
