Viviana Poli (women's soccer) were vital in their team's wins this past week, both earning their way to UH Hilo Pepsi Athlete of the Week honors.Â

Sydney Gott had two outstanding performances in her team's wins this past
week against Biola (Oct. 6) and Concordia Irvine (Oct. 9). Both of these wins were crucial in her team's placement in the PacWest and their journey toward postseason. Gott posted up big numbers in both wins. Against Biola, Gott had 14 kills and totaled a .478 hitting percentage. She was nearly unstoppable at the net with two blocks and seven block assists.
Against Concordia Irvine, Gott had the highest hitting percentage (.375) on the team with eight kills.Â

Viviana Poli led the Vulcans' defense on the road. Poli started all four games and played a crucial role in ensuring their four wins. She had three shutouts in the net, accumulating 18 saves. Four of her saves were in high pressure situations where the Vulcans were only up by one goal.Â
