Hilo, Hawai'i-- The wait is finally over for Vulcan fans. 

We are excited to announce that as of Oct. 18, UH Hilo has been approved by the County of Hawai'i to allow fifty-percent capacity for volleyball and soccer games. Women's and men's soccer playing at the UH Hilo Baseball Stadium and women's volleyball playing in the Vulcan Gym will be allowed up to 500 fans at their games with the following conditions. 

1. All attendees must provide proof of vaccination upon entry.
To attend a UH Hilo sporting event, spectators must be fully vaccinated. A minor under the age of 12 may attend with a parent/legal guardian (masking required). A person is considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 when more than two weeks has passed since receiving the second dose in a two-dose series, or when more than two weeks has passed since receiving a single-dose vaccination. 

It is preferred and strongly recommended that all fans planning on attending the event download the LumiSight UH app which is is available for free on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. It is also available on the LumiSight UH website for those without access to a suitable mobile device, or those who prefer not to download the mobile app.The LumiSight UH app will ask guests to upload their vaccination card and fill out a quick assessment of their current state of health. Once you have completed the LumiSight UH app questionnaire and uploaded your vaccination card, the front page will read "You are clear to come on campus" which you will then show the UH Hilo representative at the front entrance. The LumiSight UH app will validate your vaccination card, so you do not need to bring the hard copy with you.

If you are incapable of downloading the LumiSight UH app, you must bring your vaccination card with you. Your hard copy will be checked upon arrival. 

2. Masks must be worn at all times.
Spectators must wear face coverings at all times with the exception of removing their face covering to briefly drink or eat. 

3. Fans must physically distance themselves and sit in the appropriate areas.
For soccer, fans are only allowed to sit in the baseball stadium bleachers. Fans may not go down to the field or anywhere else. Fans must wear their masks at all times and physically distance themselves from other parties.  

For volleyball, fans must also be physically distanced and wear masks for the entire duration of their attendance. The Vulcan Gym bleachers will be marked off accordingly to comply with physical distancing practices. 

Next up for Soccer 
UH Hilo Athletics will start accepting fans at home competitions tomorrow, Oct. 19 for women's and men's soccer. The women's and men's soccer teams are set to play against Concordia Irvine tomorrow, Oct. 19 at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m HST respectively. For those who cannot attend, the games will continue to be video live streamed and live stats will be available online. 

Soccer Ticket Prices
Tickets will be sold for cash only at the gate. The ticket prices include: $5 for adult general admission, $4 for senior citizens (65+) and $5 for middle/high school students. UH Hilo and HCC students will be admitted free of charge when they show their valid student ID.

Next up for Women's Volleyball 
The Vulcans are set to play four games on the road starting Oct. 25 against Concordia Irvine and will return home after their Oct. 29 game against Azusa Pacific. Their next home game where fans can come support will be Nov. 4 against Academy of Art at 7 p.m. in the Vulcan Gym.
