One standout volleyball player ending her career and a freshman basketball player just starting his are the UH Hilo Pepsi Athletes of the Week.

Senior middle blocker Ashton Jessee wrapped her excellent UH HIlo career with a big output on Senior Night against Hawaii Pacific. The Anchorage native zipped in five service aces against the Sharks, had nine kills and six blocks assists in the four-set win. For the weekend, she totaled 14 kills, six aces and seven blocks assists. The 6-foot-3 fifth-year Vulcan wraps up her career ranked third all-time on the UH Hilo list for total blocks with 415.

Freshman Donald McHenry scored a career-high 26 points to help his team knock off region foe Alaska Anchorage 75-72 and has been named the UH Hilo Pepsi Athlete of the Week. The left-hander from Milwaukee scored 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. He scored 16 of his points in the second half as the Vulcans held off the Seawolves to improve to 4-0 for the first time since 2005. The Vulcans will see UAA again this week in Anchorage (Nov. 28), along with Alaska Fairbanks (Nov. 27) and No. 4 nationally ranked Lubbock Christian on Wednesday on Oahu.
