INDIANAPOLIS--UH Hilo is the No. 5 seed at the NCAA National Men's Tennis Championships next week and will face No. 4 Concordia of New York in the quarterfinals on Tuesday (May 18).
The Vulcans (10-2) will face the Clippers, winners of the East Region at 2 pm PT (11 am HT). Concordia is 14-0 on the season and defeated Franklin Pierce and Le Moyne to win their regional title. The winner advances to the semifinals to play the winner of No. 1 seed Columbus State (21-0) vs. No. 8 Cameron (11-5).
All matches are played at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Center in Surprise, Arizona.
The Vulcans have won eight matches in a row, with six of those coming against nationally ranked teams. This is UHH's third straight trip to the national tournament after winning the Pacific West Conference and NCAA West Regional tournaments for the first time.
