BELLINGHAM, Washington – The Hawai'i Hilo women's golf team finished with a third-consecutive round total of 321 to land a No. 11 placement at the 16-team Western Washington University Invitational this week at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club.
Freshman Kiersten Saludares led the way with a +12 overall finish for a No. 29 placement, matching the season-best individual score from a season ago.
Tori Hironaga finished the first round even with Saludares at 79 (+7) and ended with 17-shots over at tied for No. 47.
Tia Kuali'i and Kailey Oki both finished tied at No. 54 with a 163 total.
Among other Pacific West Conference teams, Dominican finish tied for first place but fell to British Columbia in the one-hole playoff. The Penguin's Claire Shubin took home the individual title at -3.
Holy Names' Lavinia Romito finished tied for second at +1 to lead the Hawks to a fifth-place finish.
Hawai'i Pacific finished three spots ahead of the Vulcans with a No. 8 placement.
UH Hilo will next play in the HPU Sharks Shootout at the Pearl Country Club on O'ahu ('Aiea, Hawai'i) later this month.
