GOLETA, California – Jaylen Wan and Kailee McKee both set the new single-round program record by carding rounds of three-under to help Hawai'i Hilo Women's Golf finish runner-up at the Westmont Invitational at Sandpiper Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.

Wan led the Vulcans with a runner-up individual finish at -3 on rounds of 70 and 73. Wan made nine birdies and entered the final round two strokes behind Westmont's Ashley Chang, who finished the opening round at five-under. Wan drew level with Chang after six holes of Round 2 before Chang managed to move back in front on Hole 8 and ultimately finished three shots ahead.

McKee climbed 11 spots from 14th to finish tied for No. 3 (+1) on rounds of 77 (+4) and 70 (-3). McKee made four birdies in Round 2 to also set the program's new single-round score of three-under. McKee finished even with Westminster's Ashley Lam (76–71), who climbed to third from 10th place. Kieran Florino tied for No. 13 at plus-8 on rounds of 76 and 78.

Wan's two-round score of -3 (143) also set a new program record — breaking the previous mark of even par.

The Vulcans trailed Cal State East Bay and Point Loma by five and four shots, respectively, after Round 1 but moved in front of both teams after 13 holes in the second round, posting a 306 to finish two strokes (+29: 307–306) ahead for second place.

Chang took the individual win at six-under (68–72) with Westmont claiming the team title at plus-16 (299–301).

EVENT NOTES

• Both Wan's (Round 1) and McKee's (Round 2) single-round scores of three-under set a new program record — one shot ahead of round scores posted by Elle Otani (2024 CSUSM Fujikura) and Trinity Ledgerwood (2025 PacWest Championships).
• Wan's two-round score record of three-under (70-73) was three shots better than the previous program best set by Dayna Bersamin (2011 GFU Culturame Classic) and Kiersten Saludares (2025 SMU Grisham Memorial).
• McKee's two-round score (+1) ranks No. 4 in the program record book.

  • Tied the 2025 SMU Grisham Memorial (299-306).

  • Moved ahead of Saludares (2023 SMU Fall Invite) and Tia Kuali'i (2023 UHH Dennis Rose), both at +2.
• Program Team Two-Round Score Rank No. T4: Hawai'i Hilo Score of +29 (307-306)
  • Tied the 2025 SMU Grisham Memorial (299-306).
