SEASIDE, California – Andrew Otani and Keith Ng placed in the top 20 to help lead the Hawai'i Hilo men's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the 18-team Otter Invitational hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay this week at the Bayonet Golf Course.
For Otani, it was his 15th top 20 finish as he finished this week two shots over for a No. 15 placement to lead the Vulcans.
Ng followed with a No. 18 placement at three shots over. His second-round score of 67 was the second best of the invite as only two other golfers finished rounds that low.
Dustin Franko (+8), Noah Lau (+16) and Nicholas Gomez (+24) rounded out the rest of the scores for the Vulcans.
Barry University took the top spot with a team score of eight-under.
Cal State Monterey Bay's Simon Bjorken was the individual winner with round scores of 67–69–69 to finish at -11.
Holy Names was the only other Pacific West Conference team competing as it finished at No. 10.
Hawai'i Hilo will next play in the HPU Sharks Shootout at the Pearl Country Club on O'ahu ('Aiea, Hawai'i) starting Oct. 28.
