'AIEA, Hawai'i – The Hawai'i Hilo women's golf team wrapped up play at the 16-team Southwest Airlines HPU Sharks Shootout at the Pearl Country Club with a 13th-place finish.
The Vulcans opened with a 317-shot round one before closing with 321 on day two to finish 33-over as a team. It's the fourth time this season the women have ended a round with a 321 score.
Freshman Kiersten Saludares led the way with a plus-11 total (79–76) for a tie at No. 30.
Among other Pacific West Conference teams competing, Point Loma Nazarene had a runner-up finish (+7) followed by Hawai'i Pacific (+17) at No. 4 and Biola (+32) at No. 6.
Cal State San Marcos took the top spot with a seven-under finish (290–281). CSUSM's Breann Horn was the top finisher with a minus-seven finish.
Hawai'i Hilo will close out the fall 2022 season at home with the Dennis Rose Invitational this weekend, Oct. 28-29 at the Hapuna Golf Course.
