KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Freshman Elle Otani placed in the top 20 to help lead the Hawai'i Hilo women's golf team this weekend at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate at the Hapuna Golf Course.
Otani improved by three shots on day two to finish plus-five, moving up eight spots and placing tied for No. 18.
Overall, the Vulcans had a better outing in round two as their score improved by 12 shots to move up a spot and land at 15th.
Kiersten Saludares bettered her day-one score by eight shots to finish at a tie for 54th.
Playing as an individual, Trinity Ledgerwood saw the biggest leap after shooting rounds of 84 and 74
Cal State San Marcos took the top spot, winning its second event in Hawai'i this week.
Biola's Brady Turnquist repeated as Dennis Rose Intercollegiate individual champion.
Hawai'i Hilo will return for the spring season with a match against Hawai'i Pacific in late-February at the Waikoloa Beach Resort.
