Women's Volleyball Closes Home Slate With Senior Night

Vulcans fell to Biola in straight sets in the final home match of the season.

HILO, Hawai'i – In the final home game of the season, the Hawai'i Hilo women's volleyball team were defeated by Biola in straight sets, 14-25, 18-25, 11-25, as the Vulcans celebrated their four departing seniors Saturday evening at the Vulcan Gymnasium.

The Eagles showed to be too much for the Vulcans as they continually strung together clusters of points to stay ahead as the match saw just one tied score the entire way.

Senior Cara Bolte (Honolulu, Hawai'i/Maryknoll School) led the team with nine kills and is now one away from tallying 100 in her career.

Bolte, Mia Takai (Hilo, Hawai'i/Hilo HS), Maile Goss (San Diego, California/San Marcos HS) and Kendall Kott (Shingle Springs, California/Ponderosa HS) were the four seniors honored and recognized following Saturday's match.

Mahalo to everyone who supported the Hawai'i Hilo women's volleyball team at its home games this season.

What's Next

Hawai'i Hilo fell to 2-20 overall, 2-14 PacWest as Biola improved to 12-5 in the PacWest (15-9 overall).

The Vulcans will hit the road for a four-game trip to northern California to close out the 2022 season starting with Holy Names on Nov. 4.

The Eagles will host Academy of Art that same night.
