HONOLULU, Hawai'i – The Hawai'i Hilo women's volleyball team took on the top team in the Pacific West Conference Sunday afternoon, falling to Chaminade in straight sets (20-25, 18-25, 19-25) at McCabe Gymnasium.
Nikki Logan (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison HS) led the Vulcans with 11 kills followed by Samara Cruz (Escondido, Calif./Escondido HS) with nine.
Emerson Reinke (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley HS) tallied 24 assists to total 474 thus far on the season. The freshman ranks No. 3 with both 315 assists and 8.75 assists per set (both conference-only).
1,000 IN A CAREER
Tani Hoke (Kailua, Hawai'i/Maryknoll School) had eight digs to surpass the 1,000-career mark.
Following Sunday's match, the junior libero ranked No. 90 amongst all active NCAA Division II players as well as No. 15 in digs per set at 4.69.
The Kailua, Hawai'i-native currently sits at No. 2 in the PacWest with 4.31 digs per set this season with 250 total digs for a No. 6 rank in the conference.
Hoke became the sixth Vulcan to reach 1,000 digs, joining Mina Grant (1,564), Tanya Fuamatu (1,559), Bria Beale (Eastvale, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga HS / UC Irvine) (1,206), Thia Palakiko (1,068) and Laura Rodriguez (1,024).

Hawai'i Hilo fell to 1-15 overall, 1-9 PacWest as Chaminade improved to 9-0 in the PacWest (14-6 overall).
The Vulcans will return to the Big Island for a six-game home stand starting Wednesday, Oct. 12 against Holy Names (3-7 PacWest, 8-10 overall).
The Silverswords will host Dominican on Wednesday.
