SAN RAFAEL, California – With a shortened bench, Cara Bolte (Honolulu, Hawai'i/Maryknoll School) emerged with 17 kills to lead the Hawai'i Hilo women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Dominican Saturday evening in Pacific West Conference action at the Conlan Center. Set scores were 25-20, 25-14, 23-25 and 25-20 in the Vulcans' favor.
The senior's career high was part of a 59-total team kills onslaught to overwhelm the Penguins at a 24-plus margin. It also ranks in the top 10 for four-set team kills in the PacWest this season.
Samara Cruz (Escondido, California/Escondido HS) followed with 16 kills and a season-high 24 digs as part of a team total of 86 — ranking in the top five of four-set PacWest matches in 2022.
Emerson Reinke (Arvada, Colorado/Ralston Valley HS) dished out 43 assists and matched a career-high of 17 digs while finishing with a .545 hitting percentage on six kills.
Imeleta Ale (Carson, California/Carson HS) also finished above the middle-mark with .556 on six kills.

Hawai'i Hilo improved to 3-21 overall, 3-15 PacWest as Dominican fell to 0-18 in the PacWest (0-26 overall).
The Vulcans will continue in northern California against Academy of Art (6-20, 5-12 PacWest) Monday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. local Pacific Time before closing the season Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Fresno Pacific (14-7, 13-3 PacWest).
The Penguins will close the season by hosting Hawai'i Pacific and Chaminade next week.
