HILO, Hawai'i– This week's Pepsi Athletes of the week are Mandi Kawaha (Hilo, Hawai'i/Hilo HS) from women's basketball and Aaron Davies (Palos Verdes, Calif. / Palos Verdes HS/) from baseball.
 
Mandi Kawaha (Hilo, Hawai'i/Hilo HS)
Kawaha led her team in scoring in their victories against Hawai'i Pacific and Chaminade. She knocked down 24 points against Hawaii Pacific, 14 against Chaminade (shooting 50 percent from the field) and seven versus Academy of Art totaling 45 points this past week. 
 
Kawaha is the seventh-highest scorer in the PacWest Conference, scoring an average of 15.8 points a game. 
 
Kawaha also filled up her stat sheet this past week with eight assists, 11 rebounds, five steals, and one block.  
 
Aaron Davies (Palos Verdes, Calif. / Palos Verdes HS/) 
Davies threw a six-inning game against Minnesota Crookston where he only allowed two hits and dismissed five batters. Davies kept the Vulcans in the game and allowed them to be in a position where they could come back in the final inning to take the 2-1 win.

This game also clinched the series for the Vulcans as it was their fourth win in their six-game series against the Golden Eagles.
