DALLAS, Texas–The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released their 2022 All-West Region teams that featured First Team selections from the Pacific West Conference, Great Northwest Athletic Conference and California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The NCBWA selected players for three teams: First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mentions. First Team recipients will advance to their All-America ballot.

The UH Hilo baseball team's Joseph Gallagher received recognition as a Second Team designated hitter.

Gallagher was a graduate student transfer who made an immediate impact on the Vulcans batting line-up. He slugged .549, driving in 39 RBIs and batted .348 with 17 multi-hit games where he had a season-high of five hits against his former school, Hawai'i Pacific. Gallagher racked up 57 hits this season, 13 doubles, one triple, and tied for a team-high of six home runs.
