HILO, Hawai'i – Alexander Hernandez-Herbach (Pasadena, Calif./Pasadena HS) headed in his second goal of the season, but visiting Chaminade quickly retaliated as the Hawai'i Hilo men's soccer team battled the Silverswords to a 1-1 tie Friday evening in non-conference play at the Vulcan Soccer Field.
On a corner kick, Wataru Muto (Chiba, Japan/Yachiyo HS) launched the ball across the goal and connected with Hernandez-Herbach's head for the score at the top of the net in the 61st minute.
But just a few minutes later, the Silverswords quickly climbed the field and Reilly Minigutti connected with Ryan Anderson for the equalizing score at 63rd-minute mark for what would be the eventual final arithmetic.
The Silverswords took just one shot on goal while the Vulcans totaled eight attempts with three on goal.
Freshman Adam Frank (Reno, Nev./Robert McQueen HS) got the start in goal for Hawai'i Hilo.
