AZUSA, California – The Hawai'i Hilo Women's Volleyball team put up a hard-fought battle, falling to Azusa Pacific in three sets Saturday afternoon in Pacific West Conference play at the Felix Event Center.
Set scores were 20-25, 18-25 and 20-25 as the Vulcans concluded an action-packed nine-day road trip with five matches through Southern California.
Both the opening and closing sets saw the Vulcans and Cougars battle neck and neck through to the latter half of the frame until APU managed to pull away for the final go-ahead points.
Isabella Hadaller led with 11 kills (.409) as Tani Hoke totaled 16 digs, now moving just 23 away from surpassing the program's career mark of 1,564 set by Mina Grant ('15-'18).
The two teams previously met Sept. 24 in Hilo with the Vulcans falling in four sets.

Hawai'i Hilo moved to 10-14 overall (7-9 PacWest) while Azusa Pacific moved to a 12-4 conference record (15-9 overall).
The Vulcans will return for its final two home matches of the regular season, hosting Dominican (Nov. 8) and Academy of Art (Nov. 9) — the latter of which will be Senior Night celebrating the Vulcans' two departing seniors.
Hawai'i Hilo will then finish over on O'ahu with matchups against Chaminade (Nov. 17) and HPU (Nov. 18).
