Inclement Weather Cancels Final Game of Series with Northwest Nazarene

Hawai‘i Hilo went 3-0 against the Nighthawks over the past two days.

HILO, Hawai'i – The final contest of a four-game series between the Hawai'i Hilo baseball team and visiting Northwest Nazarene was canceled Saturday afternoon after one inning of play.

Despite a downpour of rain overnight and throughout the morning, the Vulcans were able to get the field to playable conditions after a one-hour delay for first pitch.

Both teams got through 1.2 innings of play with the Nighthawks leading, 1-0, after plating a run in the top of the second. Shortly after, the Hilo rain quickly flooded the diamond as both teams agreed to call the game off.

Play will not be resumed or made up, and the stats will not count.

The Vulcans notched a 3-0 series victory as they're off to a 7-1 start to the 2023 season.
