FRESNO, California – The Hawai'i Hilo men's tennis team wrapped up its seven-match spring-break slate with losses to No. 35 Metro State and Colorado Mesa at Fresno Pacific University's Haak Tennis Complex.
The Vulcans played the 35th-ranked Roadrunners tough, dropping the deciding No. 3 doubles match via 7-4 tiebreaker.
In the singles round, Ryosuke Sowa fell in both sets via 7-4 tiebreaker as well. Both Luca Matheiowetz and Agustin Gentile's singles matches went unfinished with the former dropping the first set via 12-10 tiebreaker and the latter ending in the third set.
Filippo Di Perna earned the Vulcans' lone point with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the No. 2 flight.
To cap the week, Hawai'i Hilo fell to Colorado Mesa, 4-0.
Hawai'i Hilo moved to 2-8 overall and will return home to have two weeks to prepare for its lone home match of the season against Division-III opponent Cal Lutheran on March 31 at the UHH Tennis Courts.
