GOODYEAR, Arizona – Tia Kuali'i moved up 28 spots after shooting a 73 in the second round of the RJGA Palm Valley Classic Saturday morning at the Palm Valley Golf Club to help the Hawai'i Hilo women's golf team jump one spot for a tie at 18th place.
The Vulcans shot rounds of 319 and 314 to finish tied with Fortt Lewis College at No. 18.
Kiersten Saludares also improved by five shots to move up 17 spots for a tie at No. 54.
Oklahoma Christian's Sofia Benavides (74–69) took the individual crown with a one-under finish as West Texas A&M claimed the team win after a playoff with Colorado Christian.
Biola was the only other team from the Pacific West Conference competing as it finished 10th.
The Vulcans will be back in action early next week at West Texas A&M's Deser Invite April 3–4 in Tucson, Arizona at the Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
The PacWest Championships is set for April 17–18 in Litchfield Park, Arizona at the Wigwam Golf Club.
