KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Katsuhiro Yamashita continued his strong start to the season with a fourth consecutive top 20 finish, placing at a tie for No. 15 in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate this week at the Mauna Lani North Course.
The reigning Pacific West Conference Co-Player of the Week competed among a tough field with 19 top-100 ranked golfers including Yamashita himself who entered the event ranked No. 94. He shot rounds of 70 and 72 for a two-under finish.
Hawai'i Hilo Men's Golf placed 12th among the field of 19 teams, finishing at 19 shots over.
Top-ranked Colorado Christian — boasting five top 25 golfers — handily took both team and individual wins with a team score of 30-under. No. 1 Sungyeop Cho and No. 15 Sangha Park both finished 10-under to share the individual win. Park, a graduate student transfer repeated as individual champ after having won last year as a member of UT Permian Basin.

Hawai'i Hilo closes the fall slate at the HPU Sharks Shootout, Oct. 25-26, at the Waikoloa Resort Beach/Lakes Courses.
The Vulcans will be off for winter and will return to action in early February to host the annual Amer Ari Intercollegiate at the Mauna Lani North Course, featuring many of the best Division I teams and programs in the country.
