HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Volleyball battled out of a 2-1 hole to even the match, but the Vulcans ultimately fell to Jessup in five sets (25-15, 22-25, 19-25, 25-11, 11-15) Wednesday evening in Pacific West Conference play at the Vulcan Gymnasium.
The Vulcans matched their season high of 14 total blocks as freshman Isabella Freeman accounted for 10 of them.
Hawai'i Hilo moved to 9-5 in the PacWest (14-10 overall) as Jessup moved to a 6-5 conference record (10-8 overall).
The Vulcans moved to fourth place in the PacWest standings. There is no conference postseason tournament as the PacWest Champion will be determined by final regular season standings.
Hawai'i Hilo swept Jessup in the two team's first meeting of the season earlier this month.
OTHER NOTES
- Samara Cruz's 11 digs moved her up to No. 7 all-time in the program record books, totalling 958 to surpass Marley Strand-Nicolaisen's (13-16) mark of 951.
- Taylor Tullo posted a career high of four blocks.
- Freeman's double-digit blocks total (10) matches seven other Vulcans single-game performances — all tied at No. 8 in the program record books.
