HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Basketball had a triumphant return home in claiming victory over Nobel University, 96-52, Thursday night in non-conference play at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
Jake Kosakowski spotted the Vulcans an early lead by splashing four-of-four shots from beyond the arc through the first two-plus minutes of action. The senior continued to have the hot hand from long range as he finished with a game-high 21 points with six of the Vulcans' 14 total 3-pointers.
After starting the game 6 of 8 on 3-pointers, Hawai'i Hilo missed its next eight three-point attempts but eventually finished strong with six splashes through the latter parts of the evening.
Nadjrick Peat (4-4 FG; 3 blocks), Jarin Edwards (4-6 FG; 9 rebounds) and Andre Norris each finished with 11 points.
The Vulcans finished with a season-high .557 shooting percentage but also posted a low of 48.3 percent from the free throw line (14-29 FT).
Hawai'i Hilo moved to 6-4 overall (1-1 PacWest) as Nobel stayed at a 1-8 record as the contest counted as an exhibition for the Knights.
